After my post about Empire Sushi’s opening in Ipoh Parade last month, I finally had the chance to try it myself. Let’s begin with Empire Sushi Ipoh Parade.
The menu at Empire Sushi Ipoh Parade
I have ordered (from left to right) Inari + Kani Cheese (RM2.60), Inari+Lobster (RM2.70), Aburi Salmon (RM2.40), Cheese (RM1.10) which totaled up to RM 8.80.
Let’s begin with Inari + Kani Cheese sushi, the inari (tofu skin) was sweetened by itself matching with the cheesy crab meat.
The Inari+Lobster was recommended by the staff, out of the curious I just ordered and tried it and it was heavily seasoned with creamy sauce while you can feel there are few small pieces of lobster meat.
Cheese sushi, a thick slice of cheese wrapped around the vinegar rice with seaweed, topped with their in-house sauce seared to create the burned texture. In just a single bite you can slowly melt the cheese in your mouth.
And the last piece, Aburi Salmon. Half seared to create 2 different texture, half cooked on the surface while the other were maintained at raw state which creates a unique texture. I would prefer they seared it to slightly crisp on the edge to condensed the flavour.
Overall I think they were offering wide range of sushi. However my only complain is the temperature of their sushi rice was way too cold to my liking. Although I shouldn’t compare this to others but to me, the sushi rice is the base for all sushi and it should be kept above room temperature for comfort bite.
