Choong Hin Koi Wan Ton Mee Jelapang / 中兴居鸭腿云吞面
Recently had the chance to visit Jelapang for a meetup, and I have been hearing this local’s famous Choong Hin Koi Wan Ton Mee Jelapang for quite some time and decided to take my breakfast here.
Operates since the 60’s this wan ton mee stall has been operating and currently operates by the second generation.
During my Wan Ton Mee hunting season I found this stall serves one of the biggest portion of wanton. Each serving come at 4 big pieces of wanton. By default they serves pork wanton, and you could opt for pork or prawn or even mixed pork with prawn wanton.
Their wanton noodle are mixed with dark soy sauce served with lard oil and minced pork, choy sum and garnished with chopped spring onion. The one I ordered topped with additional slices of Char Siu (barbecue sweet pork).
They have 2 types of wanton noodle Yau Min (default thin noodle) and Chou Min (flat like hor fun, which normally used for local Hakka Mee).
They have another special menu, the Duck Soup and Shui Kao (minced meat with vegetable dumpling). However during my visit they have sold out. So perhaps next time I’ll update with this special menu.
